Default Least problematic year s2k?

I know s2k's are fairly reliable, I'm looking at 03 and 04's, and I really think I like the AP2 changes. Any known problems with 04's? any advantage disadvantage to lean either way? Like I said, I like the AP2 changes, so i'm leaning towards the 04. Assuming its got around 25k on it, the only big upcoming maintenance would the the clutch(around $1200) at around 60k right? and tires of course. No timing belt or any other big upcoming expenses right?

There is no timing belt. Chain driven. All models are superb. I personally favor MY07

As a rule of thumb, the newer the car, the more reliable it will be.

Agree with Quikag. Since the S is basically the same car that it was in 2000, each year brings improvements from Honda to correct minor problems that only show up after many miles and many users have noted the weak points. The '07 should be the best yet.

07 ftw!!!! hehe jkjk. All years are good but personally, i would stay away from 99-01. 02+ should be good for me.

There was no 99. My00 has never had a problem. Routine oil changes and preventative maintenance and you will be fine.

Honda seems to do a good job at learning from repair history and correcting in future production.

Although, some of their solutions are not so great...like the ap2 clutch delay valve.
