Its not the rubber!! well, at least its not the condition of the rubber.

There is a small opening for water to get in the elbow joint next to the drivers head, where the two rubber parts meet. It is a VERY small opening, and i'm sure i can fix it myself with some sort of sealant, or even glue. My question is, does anyone know of a sealant that would be acceptable to use on the rubber?

First of all, you don't know this for a fact. The "condition" of the rubber is what holds the water back. Partially put the top down (or up) and once that "opening" is apart, you will notice that it has contours inside. Using a rubber treatment like silicone grease will "condition" the rubber so that when it is joined, it will form a better join. Even though it may look like there is an opening, it is in fact, joined together. Silicone grease will swell the rubber.

You DO NOT want to seal or glue this seam as it must open and close with the top going up and down.
