easing out the clutch seems to put a lot of wear on it at high RPM ...
but one way or another, launching the car will pull stress on something , if not everything.
about the video ...
man, that's some aceleration there!
what's the 0-60' time for that?

Later this month, I will be going to a driving school to learn several techniques, probably to include launching. While we are on the subject, does anyone have any suggestions for a safe way (by this I mean wear and tear on the drivetrain/clutch) to launch?

The theory for the last 2 years on the board has been that dumping the clutch is the least damaging way to launch. You should pre-load the drive train first; all of the force is then used to break the wheels loose.
The broken diff and half-shafts were in a supercharged S2000, not stock. He also had an upgraded clutch which made the diff the new weak point on the car.
