Mostly at a drag strip, since it has a prepped surface that is probably twice as sticky as a regular road.

On the street, it's easy to break the rear tires loose with moderate rpm from a launch, so it's not THAT hard on the diff.

Yes, but that's being said for a person who knows what they're doing. Everyone should be aware that S2000's can be had for around $10-12k in some places, so not all drivers are men and women who can afford $35,000 roadsters. The average 17 year-old won't know how to launch correctly, which is why I caution everyone to not do it unless they have an understanding.
