Of course, fry's is a really nice huge store. The S30's gonna be a good size step up from the P71. The P71's more of a snap and shoot camera in Sony's lineup. I don't know why you were getting blurry pictures with it. The camera's great for the price, but that's pretty much it. It's pictures turn out a bit grainy with night shots. The S30 has much more manual controls and greater range in white balance and f-stops(aperture settings; you can take a still picture of a fast spinning fan and keep it sharp with the S30), as well as the regular automatic feature. The S30 and S40 sold fast and well at Circuit City and Bestbuy, I'm not sure about Fry's. Oh yea, those warranties they try to sell you to make profit...they work alright, but you shouldn't get it if you dont lend your camera out too much.

ok, thanks again...
but about the warranty, my older brother got a p71. i loved it (but only because i didn't really know what else was on the market) so i soon got my 1st p71. anyway, my brother is up in alaska tagging salmon (he recently caught a 40lb king salmon!) and his dry bag turned out to be a not-so-dry bag. water got in, screwed up his camera. luckily, he had the best buy warranty (sony's is crap) so it's all better now.
so i highly recommend getting an extended warranty, but that's just me. i guess if you don't spend 3wks (with no real shower, yuck!) in the mountains (tents) tagging salmon, then you don't really need a warranty, but you never know... we can be pretty stupid sometimes.
thanks again! S30 here i come!
