Default latest update on Vortech SC from Vortech and info on the Paxton unit in Compech SC

I just got off the phone with both Vortech and Paxton (Paxon?) people and here is the latest.

Engineering/RD on the Vortech says several months ( like more than 2 or 3) late summer or fall before anything is on the market.

Retail will be $4500-5000 with as few hundred $$ discount from suppliers.

Paxton, Vortech blowers are very comparable, neither one really has an advantage with the S2000 application.

Vortech is going to put more HP to the wheels, but it has the aftercooler, so all in all Comtech and Vortech w/o aftercooler are probably about the same if you figure the after cooler will give you about 18% add'l hp at most?

Wes is running about 300hp with V-AFC and a few other things, but the kit is supposed to put about 270-290 to the rear.

Vortech would be about 300-317 maybe with the intercooler. So it's about a toss up if Comptech comes out with an aftercooler air/water.

Just thought there might be afew people on there that wanted to know the latest as of this afternoon.

Not much new except still some time in the release of the Vortech kit ala AEM cai...oh well....

It doesn't sound like there's much reason to wait for this when Comptech has had theirs out for a long time.

that's a good point, unless you want to make sure you can get an aftercooler as part of the deal, they will probably run $400 or so as a separate unit or upgrade.

Right, I know that, just bought them out, that's why I asked to be transferred to them and asked them about the blower in the Comptech

its taking vortech way too long to come out with this kit. seems like everytime the due date comes, there is a delay of some sort due to R&D. time to market is very important, especially since Comp SC has been out for a while now and even still working out the bugs with the cracked brackets. what kind of problem is Vortech going to have once their kit comes out

not to slam Comptech because they're a great company, but maybe (hopefully) Vortech is pushing their release date back in an effor to avoid any problems after release. Comptech certainly paved the road for others to follow. I hope that Vortech (and MG for that matter) learn from those difficulties and improve their initial products appropriately.

Talked to Steve over at Vortech today and he gave me the "four weeks" eta.

I think I'll look out for the MG Racing roots blower. Sounds promising from what Tim just told me.
