How neat. Very good idea.

My aftermarket alarm is actually wired to use that light.

By the way I think you should call this product "The OEM Alarm Simulator".

International Orders call for shipping?

Geeezz. Just put the price down for US/Can so we know. I would have bought one spot on. I'm not waiting for you to nickle and dime me to death.
The price is the same no matter where the buyer resides. So it's not a matter of US/CAN prices. The price is $20.00 USD. The reason I've asked buyers to contact me for international orders is for the shipping rates. We obviously cannot ship to Europe, Asia, Africa, etc for $2.50 USD. I need to know where it's going so I can determine what it's going to cost to ship.

just "sitting" huh?

i'd have to agree though.
Well, not just sitting you know. I could be doing any number of things while "sitting" . Actually though, most days I leave work and drive somewhere to park, eat lunch, read the paper and just get outside for a while.

So Cylon, I was thinking about it some more overnight. Couldn't the crimp wire just be spliced to a different wire that was switched off of the accessory position instead? I'd really like to get one. This has to be possible somehow... do we need to consult Modifry?

That's a possibility. I wouldn't know where to start though. The board is his design, I just mass produce them. I'm sure it could be done, but you'd have to go wire hunting for the right ones. I tried to make this as easy as possible. I guess you could PM him and see if he knows.

I think I'll shoot him a PM then. Thanks.

All the guys that ordered the first batch should have them by now. If you get a chance, post a review since you are the first ones to have the final product. I'm interested in seeing how you like them and if you had any problems/questions.

What shuts it off is the key being turned to the ignition position. It will still blink in accessory mode. However, the car does not need to be started for it to disengage. Once the key is turned back out of the ignition position it will reactivate.

It blinks at slow, evenly spaced intervals. I find fast flashing to be annoying.
I haven't seen the instructions yet (pm to be sent) but, just guessing here, by changing the lead that is connected to the ignition hot circuit to the accessory circuit, you could have it shut off when the key is at accessory rather than ignition.

The hot provided tells the relay to stop providing power/ground (not sure which the LED needs) to the LED flash circuit.

Great product, by the way - I like it!

That is exactly right. I talked with Modfry about it. The reason we put the connector on the ignition is b/c it made it super easy to install. Right now, it just connects by two spade connectors that push right on to your fuse box and one crimp splice. You could alter it, but it would have been a more involved process.

Here's a bit from what Modfry mentioned about that:

There is no ACC power terminal in the fuse box so you'll have to find one somewhere else, like the wiring or fuses for the cig lighter or radio. It's a little harder for the end user to wire up, that's part of why I suggested using the fuse box terminal.

You actually most excellently documented some of these wires in your post documenting the process to enable keyfob functions when the car is running, here:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=314036

Also, in addition to having the light turn off when the key is turned to ignition, based on the above write up, one could have the light turn off when the key is inserted in the ignition by using the wire coming out of pin 13 (yellow wire) of the keyless door lock control unit harness plug.

Thanks for the super fast PM response - placing order!
