Last year of the S2000?
#23
I have the answer. There is no disputing it any longer. The truth will now be released!!!
I know for a FACT (this is straight from the company headquarters in Japan) that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.
That is all. We now return you to your regularly scheduled BS.

ok well this is how i consider the future of the S2000:
2000-2004(pre)...4 years...1 life cycle already
Next Generation S2000: 2004-2007(pre)...4 years...1 life cycle that makes 2 in total
as for 2007+ and beyond...how knows?...maybe no more?...WAIT AND SEE
so as for your question 95% sure 2007(pre) is the last of this body style ...just enough time to get my MY07...S2K as well

I read 2009 in a European magazine last year. They said Honda's 5 year plan was held and the NSX was axed, the HSC was cancelled, the S2000 would end in 2009 with no significant changes, and Honda would build 3-4 more new trucks between Honda and Acura. Who wants to bet that the Ridgline will bring much more profit than the S2000? Sad but true. Oh well, now we can save up for Elises.

I asked where the S was being built now in the Japanese forum awhile back and got this response:
Suzuka
Until recently is was built in the Takenazawa Plant near Utsunomiya in the Tochigi Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo.
I visited last December, it was good to see the S2000s and NSXs being hand built.
Of course the manufacturing of S2000s and NSXs along with the Insight was due to end this year at Takenazawa and be relocated to Suzuka, in the Mie prefecture, home of the Janaese F1 GP, west of Nagoya.

See, you guys are all wrong. I'm actually a direct decendent of Mr. Honda. I'm his nephew and according to him, they'll continue production as long as I think they should. I haven't been sure really over the past few years, that's why these topics float about like so. However, recently I think it's time that we just ditch the project. So, without argument, we can now say that 2005 is the last year and if anybody starts another thread, you can come back with "yeah, well a friend of mine is actually Mr. Honda's nephew and..."
