The last 3 bars on the fuel gauge....
... are totally useless! I LOVE my car but my fuel gauge is f-ing annoying sometimes. It never fails that the 4th from last bar will last fine but then I hit that 3rd bar and Viola! before you know it no bars (~5 miles) and the light is on. Anyone run til their out of gas, how many gallons does the tank from empty in the real world?
I remember my Prelude was listed at a 15.6 gallon tank but several people had ran out of gas and a total fill up was barely 14 gallons. Last night was a lot for me, might have been the most yet, it was 11.36 gallons.

I came super close to running out of gas one time. I drove about 20 miles with 0 lights on the gas gauge lit. When I pulled into the gas station, the car was beginning to stall.

Cmon, if you really do have a Novi 1000 like in your sig:
1. You're burning through fuel faster
2. You have a high flow fuel pump
3. Your fuel filter sock is probably impeding proper calibration of your bars at the bottom end anyway (see the "my car died" thread in this forum)

Fuel tanks tend to taper towards the bottom to funnel fuel to the lines (pump whatever). Therefore when it gets towards the bottom the faster the fuel seems to be getting used.

Mine is the same way.. TERRIBLE past 3 bars.. I own an AP2 as well.
When I first notice it's down to 3 bars, I drive another 30seconds, look back down, and it's on fumes, with no bars... lol, ALWAYS happens. WTF.
It's never been this way, but I've started noticing it when gas became a more apparent worry for me earlier last year, when it peaked out over $4/gallon. So, I always kept an eye on my gauge. But still, regardless, I've just never seen it this bad.
Does Honda do a calibration check or anything during any one of the major milestone services??? Because, I'd definitely like to have it looked at... (approaching 100,000 mile mark!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhh!! Bought the damn thing brand new, January of 2006!!! wtf! lol)
Good luck with your problem, and hopefully this problem can be diagnosed and fixed properly!

fuel light in my car comes on when i have a little less than 3 gallons left. if i fill up right when the light goes on i usually put around 10 in it.
after the fuel light hits, if i need to drive for a little longer, i just keep track of mileage and assume i have around 50 miles max before i need to fill up. the guage itself is useless as soon as it hits 3 bars.
