Default Knee hitting the steering wheel when shifting

Hi, My left knee hits the steering wheel when I shift gears. Does this happen to anyone else? How can I remedy this problem?

Stop growing!

I'm assuming you tried pulling the seat all the way back already...

Your left knee? Are you shifting with your feet?

Don't you use the clutch when you shift?

Yes, at least with my left foot when it depresses the clutch.

how tall are you? maybe try angle your leg to the left so your knee is the the right of the wheel? i'm 6'2 and i don't have this issue.

I'm 6'2", 34" inseam. I run with the seat three clicks forward of full aft and the seat back fully reclined from that position. I don't have any problems with my legs hitting the steering wheel. When the clutch is fully depressed, my left leg is almost straight.

The only issue I have is manually driving the car for a relatively long distance, I'll start feeling a pressure point on the outside of my right knee because it sits up against the center console as I'm bracing the leg to steady my foot on the throttle pedal. If I use the cruise control, which I do as often as I can, I can reposition my leg so this is no longer an issue for me.

FWIW!

You don't necessarily need a cluch to do anything but get the car rolling from a stop.

True, but, the "vast" majority of us around here "do not" have the skills to shift without the clutch. Especially, downshifts!

"How to destroy your transmission in three easy (or maybe not so easy) shifts!
