I dont think that you should you should keep the car at or under 5000 rpm, wait till you break it in, and then vtec it, its worth the wait. but yeah I would try to refrain from doing it anymore till you break in your s. Its your baby, take care of her

Trust me, you won't have any problems. Like I said, I vtec'd off the dealers lot in my Type R and the S. I just wouldn't red-line her right away. Its a Honda.

There are I know people who don't really believe 'break in' is necessary and there have been no problem with their cars. One guy was redlining his S right off the lot. I drove more conservatively, but I can't say that I was too worried about hitting VTEC at all with my car. And I'm still getting 25-27mpg on my 97 GSR. And it was dynoed a year ago at 150whp with only the intake resonator removed. So breakin/no breakin doesn't guarantee anything. It is more precautionary. Just change your oil regularly.
