Just wanted to say sup
Just this past saturday, I had the pleasure of picking up a car that I've been dreaming about since it first came out...a s2000...in suzuka blue for all those wondering. I previously owned a prelude and decided it was time for me to take a step up. All I have to say is that this site is amazing...I was actually contemplating between the s2000 and the 350z but after reading all the posts on here and test driving both cars...I had to take the s2000. Anyways, I look forward to posting and asking tons of questions

God...I can't wait till I hit 600...just a quick question though...how different is the vtec engagement in the s2000 compared to the prelude? Is it a bigger kick or wat? Or is it pretty similar? Man I can't wait...nonetheless...I can't wait to hear that sweet vtec sound

Ive had several Preludes, the vtec engagement is much more noticeable on the Prelude, if your s is NA The power curve is more subtle on the s, some are even disappointed that there is no 'head whip' at 6k, but a dyno plot shows you why
welcome aboard and enjoy the ride!

vtec is more noticeable on the lude? Oh man...it's coo though. The thing is I'm pretty new to driving stickand so when I test drove the cars I didn't really push them to the limit. But just from those short drives I realized that I needed the s2000. But I'm still excited as hell to rev that little beast up to 9k. I think about it this way. I bought the s2000 new...like having a baby. Revving it to 9k...thats when the s2000 goes from a boy to a man

Welcome aboard. You want the best advice I can give you? Go buy a small notebook, something cool with a leather case or something like that. Don't forget a good pen, something that feels good to the touch.
Now, write down all the important things you may think you're going to want to know about the car and proceed to spend a weekend with the search engine.
I'm dead serious. When I bought my car, I went back in the forums about six months and read EVERY SINGLE THREAD topic from that point forward. As information was revealed, I wrote it down (lug sizes, offsets, hubcentric dimensions, weight, size of gas tank, etc. You name it). I drew intake diagrams, routing for air flow, things to have, things to avoid. To put it bluntly, I sponged off the knowledge base the veterans gave to the forum and saved myself a ton of repeated questions. In the end, I compiled a book that is probably (at this point) about 40 pages thick and I find myself adding to it every so often when something new pops up. I will present it to the next owner assuming there is one (don't laugh, the car is THAT much fun to own).
Enjoy!
