Car was great...I couldn't get VTECH to kick in.......Car belonged to an older guy so I don't think it was abused......I hit 7rpm then 8rpm....and nothing....What do you guys think?

Before anyone else here decides to pick on you. Its actually spelled VTEC because its a half-acronym. VTECH is a company that makes telephone and other electronic equipment.
Not sure what the problem was thought... about not hitting vtec.

I very well notice when my vtec kicks in and I also have an all motor b18c1 civic. Maybe there was something wrong with the car, I once had a b16 in the same civic and vtec was wired up wrong and wouldnt kick in.

^^^^ sorry bud i'm going to have to disagree with you. first the 05 has a F22C, not a F20c,VTEC is spelled without a H. and Vtec on a F series is very noticable. you want it to be noticable then gut the airbox and put in a K&N filter and you will notice then.

First, you have to be WOT to engage vtec - were you? It is mainly heard, not felt in an AP2 due to the increased power below vtec that equals out the power band. Was there enough oil in the engine?

You need to get your RPM higher. 7 or 8 isn't going to cut it. You need to be up in the thousands range.
Make sure the temp gauge is around the halfway mark
Don't pussy foot the gas pedal
You may not "feel" it, but you'll definitely "hear" a difference when it kicks in (just under 6k I believe)
