Using the gear calculator in provided link, top speeds in mph for AP1 with 4.77 rear end (8900 rpm redline):
36.8
56.4
77.9
99.3
118.7
142.2

looks like the stock AP2 transmission is comparable to AP1 with 4.77 gears in 1st to 4th, and a bit taller in 5th and 6th. With the extra torque provided by the 2.2l motor, imo there is little need for gears in AP2.
Correction:
After further looking at the gear ratio differences between AP1 and AP2, I realized that the 1st thru 4th gear ratio are identical in both cars, but the 5th and 6th in the Ap2 are taller. However, the secondary reduction gear in the AP2 is 1.206 vs 1.16 in AP1. Therefore, the real end ratio in AP2 should be comparable to the AP1 with 4.26 gears (1.206/1.16*4.10=4.262).

Based on above finding, my earlier claim that the AP2 is comparable to AP1 with 4.77 rear end is false. The top speed in 1st-4th in stock AP2 and AP1+4.7 rear end are similar is due to the fact that the redline in the AP1 is 900rpm higher. I'm sorry for providing misinformation in my previous post. Hope this will clarify it.

So, if you own an AP2, could you swap-out the AP2 secondary reduction gear and swap-in the AP1 secondary reduction gear?

I don't know, but why do you want a taller final drive? If that's your goal, I think it's easier to swap in the Mazda 3.909 gears.

and to go even a step further, an ap1 with 4.26 gearing and an ap2 with stock gearing wouldn't be a direct comparison.

one has a 9000rpm redline, while the other has 8000rpm.

you'd basically be doing an entire transmission swap, since the primary reduction gear is located inside the tranny.
