Is it just me...or does anyone else do this...
I don't drive my S2K car to work, unless I know I'm parking in the private garage at my second office, my first office only has ramp parking. The cars are parked way too close. Anyhow, I ususally drive my S2K after work or on the weekend.
When ever drive the car out and I park the car, I alway try to make sure that I can see the car from where ever I am. Yesterday at a restaurant, I parked the car next to one of the windows and I sat at the exact window where I parked the S2K. Later on, this chick rolls up in a red cavalier and parks next to my passenger side. As she is about to get out of the car, she looks at the car...and looks around to see if anyone is around. She's scanning her surroundings and made eye contact with me. I guess she must of figured that it was my car. She smiles and starts to open her car door. What I notice was that she opened the door super slow, just so that she would not hit my door. Of course the whole time, I was thinking to myself..."b|tch...don't even think about opening your door that close to my car!!!". Needless to say, she did quite a good job of not hitting my door and putting a ding in it.
Does anyone else try to make sure that they can see their S2K from a distance or am I just a little too freakin' paranoid...?

Yup I did it. I didn't drive my car to work for about 4 months, till I was sure I was going to get a parking in a wide or corner parking spot. But some people do park the car too close, man I wish I had a private garage.

I used to park out in the middle of the parking lot to avoid being near other cars, specifically large trucks and SUVs. Turns out that there's always at least 1 or 2 assholes who think it's funny to park right next to you anway. So now I stick to parking a ways away but still amongst a few other cars.
On the other hand, I do try to "watch" it whenever I can, if only to double lock the doors (honk the horn) when people are too close - cheap amusment

I always am concerned about parking with any of my cars, not just the S2k but especially that one. To bad most of the general public can't get it - the car's the second most expensive most people make after their house. What's so damn hard about being careful.

Indeed I do this, as well as park in Egypt (and I live in Missouri...hehe) every time I go to the market (the Stook is my daily driver, I have no other choice). It is "just a car", but there is nothing wrong with protecting your investment. I'd rather be a bit anal about my car than become one of those rich a**holes that just uses things until they lose their "newness" without a care for it at all.

I do it...
I like to find an end spot next to a curb; if you park very close to the curb, then that next parking space (or door to whatever parks there) is even further away from the S2000
It really galls me that people have little enough respect for other people's belongings, regardless of the price, as to be careless with them. My poor Accord, which had no doordings at 7 years old and 183,000 miles when I moved to Texas, is now covered with dings.

Of course, I also have shock sensors connected to a pager system, so I guess I qualify as totally paranoid.
