Default Is it Just Me?

Well tonite it was good and wet and my friend w/ his IS and I went into a vacant parking lot out in the country at a church and did alittle drifting(well he did) i cant get my car to drift right i just spin it around I know im not experienced but neither are my friends one with an IS and another w/ a G35 coupe and they dont always spin around, is it just the cars weight distribution and handleing that resits a long sideways skid or is it just me(which is what im thinking since ive seen S2000s actually drift before)? I dont really want to be ridiculed or called an idiot for drifting in some what of a public place even though no pulic was with in miles, but would like an explanation which im pretty sure your going to say its me but how can i keep it sideways not spin around?(BTW this is only every once in awhile and when its wet but the 2 times i have tried this has happened.

i can "drift" our car fine, it's not really recommended though. neither of those other car's have LSD's.... if you don't know how to use the LSD then it won't work. in our car's, because of the torque band, it's more throttle steering than just using the wheel like those other cars.

Throttle control is important. I've drifted perfectly up a semi-circle on ramp, but that was on accident in the rain. I don't know if me having an AP1 with the UK alignment would make a difference though.

Also, compared to other cars the S2k is very difficult to drift.

eh. start slow in a very large parking lot. try in in a dry slick parking lot to start.... you won't be able to handle a car in the wet before knowing how to control it in the dry. it's like learning to ride a motorcycle and have no idea how to ride a tricycle.

maybe this is a dumb question, but I'll ask...did you turn off your traction control? You do have an 06?

to be blunt, the problem is most likely you and not the car. no offense

Can you tell me what you do with the steering wheel and throttle when the car starts to slide?

Make sure you stay in the gas and counter steer. It sounds like you might need to work on being more sensitive with your throttle inputs. Either you're lifting off when you start to slide or you're giving it too much gas.

I know it's most likly me I really was wondering why this car is alittle harder to drift, ive done it decent once but truthfully im not really going out and doing this everyday so it's my inexperience I question how my friends can do it so much easier than me(b/c there are just as inexperienced as i). So i was really looking for the key to succesfully drift this car i can drift my friends IS just fine.
