Not flaming, but why would you put something on your ecu without even reading instructions first? Could be dangerous

he didn't install it. someplace installed it for him.

and if i were you, i'd NEVER EVER go to that place again. they totally f*cked up your install. you're lucky it didn't really screw something up badly with your car.

you found the reason why your car would not VTEC. the VAFC was calibrated and set up improperly. is there a greater mystery I'm missing here? lol

....especially something that messes with the A/F ratio. If you are running too lean, it can really cause a LOT of heat and possibly some damage.

When I get one, I am going to install it, then just drive cautiously down to my local Dyno. There is a base-map that someone on here posted (I think it was Kayvan_Pour) that you might be able to use until it gets tuned. Using other people's settings is not smart, though, as each engine is unique. I plan on using that map between the time I get it installed, and the time I get it tuned.

Wisconsin....I think he did it himself....

So I installed it and drove to the gym
That is what I gathered from that quote. If he did not install it..... ... the shop sucks and avoid it! I think he installed it, but is paying a shop to tune it.

Just install it without it correcting anything. Mine has been installed for a couple weeks but it doesn't change anything on the ecu. When I get it programmed by a professional, I will be happy. I don't want to use someone elses settings, every car is different.

just set the vtec to 1000rpm so you will always have vtec, and make over 200hp all the way through rpms
then set the correction to lean everything out by 20, since we all know the later the MY, the leaner the ecu, the more the hp

If all Hondas use identical setups then yes.

TPS closed- low volts
TPS open- high volts

ok yeh so did some more research and the manual was basically translated straight from Japanese in a bad way.

Looks like I could not VTEC because I had the VAFC read my car as 6 cylinders. ever since I saved it to 4 then its perfect.

I installed it myself, plug and play harness very easy. Dyno tuned tommorow morn. The thing that sux is........I asked a question on the boards if I had to do any setting changes and drive to the dyno place and I think I got osme replies saying its ok, you can drive there without touching anything.........

well not really. You have to change the out put sensor to:

6 - 6

then cylinder to 4 (still not surew what this sensor does since manual did not explain this at all, I clicked one scenario by mistake, 0-1) and the car had a power loss until I hit it back to 1-1 then finally put it to (6-6)

and do the self throttle test for 10 seconds open and closed then you can run the car..........

thats what I get for listening to some of you!!!!!!!!!!!! j/p

cars normal and VTECs fine now, so the explaination of her no VTEC since car was set to 6 cylinder seems to be it?

Silver on black looks good in the inerior!
