Hmm, first of all hello all!! I just registered hoping to get more info and views. I am a car ethusiast myself driving a modified A4. I will be looking for a car in the next 2 months. I was considering a Z06 (because I want to track the car) I have driven a C5 but not a Z06.
Today I stopped by the local dealer and test drove a used S2000. I am really thrilled and amazed. The weather was god so the top was down and I do not remember having fun this much lately. The car is a blast to drive although everyone talks about the low torque on the lower rpm band. I did not see this to be an issue, never felt weak and the machine was a monster. Now I am really confused about what route to take. I could have gotten a Z06 last month but wanted to wait for 2002 model. I am glad I did though. I can only afford up to 50K which I was willing to pay until I drove S2K. I can not wait for M3 either. Now for 35K, I believe I can get at least the same fun with an opportunity to drive with top down and would be driving a car that is made better than Z06 (I do not like American cars because of their build qualities, I was leaning towards Z06 just for performance). I cannot get the test drive out of my head now I need to get one.
If I get one, I think I will be modifying it tastefully and would be able to help others as well. I hope you guys can help me out too. I have couple of questions to start with, here I go:

- How much insurance are you paying? (please post age, company, etc I am 23 myself)
- Although I have been monitoring the forum from time to time, I would appreciate if you can post pics of aftermarket wheels. I think 17s would be really a good match for this car. I do not like the design of the stock wheels either)
- I drive hard, I am scared of losing my licence. I drive fast and on high RPMs. Add the fact that until I was 18, I was living in Turkey where you go as fast as you can The car is too tempting.
- Whats up with the superchargers. What I read is that everyone has peoblems and getting low output from it. What is it supposed to run and how much? Any problems so far?

- Small but important, the orange reflectors has to go. I am not used to it and I do not like it. Getting a Euro headlight would not be any problem, is it applicable?
- What other mods are out there that will improve the car while worth spending the money.
- How much deposit should be good.

I probably bored you with my first post but any help is appreciated. I am thinking black or silver at the moment.
Thanks!!

Welcome to the fold. I've had my S2000 since they were available and every time I drive it is a thrill. I'm sure the insurance will be less than the Vette, probably about the same or less than your Audi. Mine is around $800 a year with a clean record (so far) but I am about twice your age. As for the modifications, I don't feel like I'll ever find the performance limits already on this car so I'm basically stock. The other folks on this board will help with the rest.

Less then my '99 Prelude

I also want to get 17s for my car, but I don't plan on doing so until my OEM tires wear out. Also, i'm waiting on the SSR competitions. You should do a search on wheels.

Search on the supercharger

- Small but important, the orange reflectors has to go. I am not used to it and I do not like it. Getting a Euro headlight would not be any problem, is it applicable?
I also like the look of the clear turn signals, but IMO it's just a waste of time and money. There are some people on this board with the clears. Again, the search is a good tool.

- What other mods are out there that will improve the car while worth spending the money.
Probably suspension mods after the supercharger. Example: the Spoon X bar.
