The earliest AP1 are cheap enough that most teens can afford to buy one with just a minimum wage job. With that comes with a flood of cheap parts. Hardly any high school kid can afford a set of Volks rims on their own.
This is why I have kept my car stock (exception of being lowered). I rather have a clean stock car than a modded car with junk parts. The Hella-flush theme is the new thing along with super skinny tight jeans and pink t-shirts.

I used to want to change quite a bit about my S2000. But I have to say the current setup (AP1, lowered on Espelir, AP2v1s, Invidia exhaust/testpipe), is a modest and simple sports car that is easy to appreciate in a car tuning scene that has become more about extreme form than function. You can have that mess.
I am just going to stick to enjoying one of the finest sports cars ever made, as is.

The world has changed Internet forums are what they are i agree, i must have become more tolerant as i've got older. Young folk will always be challenging to the norm or what "was". I agree but i also love change so i dont necessarily oppose the way s2ki has evolved, fs columns as well, in many ways the site is better. Less authority more freedom.

What he's saying may be true, especially from his perspective. The fact of the matter is that after 08' when all hell broke loose and disposable income was disposed of in the worst way a lot of things went with it, including sales of high end products and leisure time.
Every thing evolves, this forum, people, and the times. Whether you'll like it or not is another question.
Change is not easy, but it's necessary, and inevitable.

I completely understand what he is saying. When I started lurking here in 05 to when i joined with my S purchase in 08 to now, there has been a huge shift in the priorities of owners. Between the price of the car itself dropping and form and function giving way to hellaflush the scene here is pretty different.

I don't know about the junk, but navigating through the forums is a pain, even with the search feature. I wish we could just break everything down into sub-forums so I don't have to dig through everyones "garage sale" looking for treasures.
