Default Jumping a friend

Get you minds out of the gutter, I mean jumping his car battery!

I know there is a right way and a wrong way, but I have heard that even
the right way can screw up the electrical system in your car...

I like my friend and want to help but I don't want to screw up my car. Is
this safe? What do you think I should do

It won't hurt anything if you do it right. Already Jumped my friend's nissan pickup a few times (he was having alternator problems).

Attach the positive terminals first, then attach the negative line to ground somewhere on the car-- I've heard NOT to directly connect to the battery (although I'm guilty of this) because it can explode from the sparks when you connect.

Encourage your friend to get a new battery/newer car.

I jumped a friend's Prelude, no problems at all. Just make sure you use the proper technique (pos on, neg on, crank, neg off, pos off) and don't jump anything the comes with a bigger battery than your car does.
