J's Racing CF Hood onwers pls (Re: Hood Pins and Gloss Finish)
Hi guys my J's CF Hood will be arriving shortly..
I know some of you guys have had the hood for sometime already...so justa couple of questions...
1) For those running without hood pins, youir bonnet still in one piece? Id rather have it without pins...but I will use hood pins only if really necessary.
2) Did the CF hood come in a clear coated gloss? How has this stood up to daily driving (prone to stone chips?)
Cheers for all info!

Gloss finish is very nice, mine is holding up perfectly. I dont have hood pins and there isn't a need really. I have driven with the hood unlatched at about 60 or so (by accident) and the hood doesnt take off .. it starts to jump up and down.. you'll notice it way before the hood actually comes up and smacks the windshield.

It's not really lighter. My fit isn't perfect but it's about as good as I am going to get it. It required ALOT of fooling with it just to get it to latch down correctly. You have to adjust the mounts and the latch that it clicks in to.. every car is different, I believe this has to be done with every car and hood.
