k well my first post got locked. for whatever reason that is i apologize but i dont know wht i did wrong. anyway i have a choice between two exhaust and ive searcheed but it does not come up. so anyway i can get the jic titanium or the apexi gt spec. i dont know which one to get cause i have not heard any reviews of the apexi. i know people have the jic but which one should i go with. i heard the apexi is not loud and doesnt drone. i previously had a invidia which was a little two loud but what bothered me was the lack of down low power and it make my car rattle for some reason.

anyway im confused as to which exhaust i should get....

As for an answer.....I used to have the JIC Ti-muffler edition. Great exhaust - didn't drone, made plenty of noise, and didn't weigh much. I've been out of the S2000 modding game for about 2 years now, so I have absolutely no idea what the Apexi one is.

 

IIRC your last thread was entitled "quick poll" It was non descriptive, and actually didnt contain a poll, thats why it was dumped.

Anyway onto your Q, I too have heard good things about the JIC. Not heard anything (good or bad) about the Apexi.

 

Get the JIC, youll like it A local has it and it sounds great, very little drone at all.

ok well i apologize for that... and thanks for fixing the title.... any who all that i have heard about the apex-i is that it is quite. and as no drone at all. im actually looking for that little extra hp bump but mainly to keep low end torque, because i track the car. has anyone heard of the jic which tapers to a smaller diameter so it doesnt help gain hp...? i read that somewhere on the board. however, is this right or worng does the exhaust that seem to be quiter gain less hp. im looking for hp...

 

I used to have the JIC ST edition single exhaust. It sounded very nice and IMO was the nicest sounding exhaust I've ever heard. I knew it was loud but didn't think it was too loud. Although everyone around me always told me its loud as hell and the buyer of the exhaust also thought it was very loud.

 

now when u say loud... would u say its invidia loud, or single loud? also do u think it sounds as nice as invidia, hks, or t1r, etc.

 

Whats the difference between invidia loud and single loud? There are singles that are louder and some are quieter than the invidia.

JIC is definitely louder louder than the Apexi though.

 

I had the JIC and it was pretty close to the volume of the Invidia (I have had both) The JIC I had was full Ti and pretty light weight 8-9 lbs. The only complaint I have is the resonator in the exhaust came loose (welds broke) and it was bouncing around in the piping (rattling) that drove me nutts. I returned it for a Magnaflow Ti (they look exactly the same) and it did the same thing. I gave it Performance with it was good though, aside from the manufacturing defect that led to an annoying rattle.

I heard the US assembled exhausts had that issue, but the Japanese one's did not (I dont know if its true or not though, cuz I am unaware of a US manufacturing plant for JIC)
