If you are looking for the screen---use the one on the Odessey. I looked into getting all the parts for it last year to do a custom job--It will run about $3000 whole sale---$4500 retail. Go to your dealer ship and ask for a print out of the Odessey's navigation parts diagram. The screen will probably fit the trim piece--but you may have to figure out how to make it stay together. Besides, the Odessey's screen is a touch screen--DVD nav, so it would look just like the RHD-or Japanese version!

 

The problem is that unless I can be sure that the local maps (Sydney Australia) work with it then it is useless to me.

Also, at $US3000 it's much more expensive than any of the aftermarket nav systems here.

So what I'm looking for is an aftermarket touch screen system compatible with Aus maps that approximately fits the bezel.

 

The only touch screen NAv is from Kenwood, and that is an 8" monitor!

 

The Honda/Acura Nav system is made by alpine. n However, although the interface is similar, there is no equivalent Alpine model that mimicks what is in the Honda/Acuras.

 

does anyone know how the dvd component hooks up to the stock sreen? is it through regular rca jacks? just wondering how it will hook up to the alpine system i'm building

According to the diagram I had, it looked like a bus cable---I don't know if it was AI-net type or not. Alpine makes the Navigation for the Honda/ Acura line. They have touch screen and 3-D view in Japan. Check out their website in Japan.

here's the frame for the panasonic monitor, although i have no clue on how you could find it, maybe they just cut the plastic out for the buttons on the bottom

 

Thanks for that. It looks just like the OEM piece as that doesn't have the button panel either. the panel is part of the Nav box.

 

That photo is a nice shot, it looks like the owner used the Pioneer 8" monitor. It has the same look and location and color of the monitor.

 

If we can get a higher res scan maybe Mingster or someone can interpret it for us. I'm very please some of us are moving forward on this. I've been thinking about it for a while now.
