I had my summer tires put back on to my S on Saturday. The tire guy (actually the asst. manager) didn't have a bay with a lift available. So he put my car into an empty bay and jacked up my car using floor jacks.

Two jacks were placed on the front jack points (the pinch points indicated by the manual).

A third jack was placed under my differential. This worries me. He said, "the differential's probably the strongest part of any car".

Should I be worried?

Now I notice that when in 6th gear, cruising down the highway, if I let off the gas and then press it back down a little I feel a little body movement (torque?) (when the gas is pushed). Is this normal? I never noticed it before.

[EDIT]
I found from this link, the differential is a good place to jack up my car: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=69782

But what about the torque/twist with throttle?
[EDIT]

Thanx

The rear diff IS one of the recommended jacking point of this car. You should read your owner's manual to find out all the other key features of this car. Then you won't worry so much next time.
Without getting a complete description of the circumstances under which you notice this "little body movement", it is difficult to give you a definitive response. But offhand, assuming there was not "unusual" circumstances, I would say this is simply your drivetrain taking up and letting go of all the slack that's in it. Also, when you do this, your engine is rocking from one extreme of its travel to the other. I wouldn't be too concerned.

Thanx xviper. I've only noticed on other cars when they were definitely past their prime (mostly on Mustangs and pickups). Hadn't driven my S in a couple of weeks due to weather. Just don't remember that sensation from my S.

This body movement, especially right after putting new wheels or tires one, just sounds like the tire pressure problem that so many people have reported. The car will pull to one side if the air pressure is not even all around...is that what you describe as body movement?
