Default jacking up car

I'm gonna be working under the front of the car, can someone suggest a good spot to position a hydraulic jack? I know the stock jack that comes with the car gets positioned on the sides but the hydraulic ones have a different shape on the piece that rest/supports the car (it's circular almost dish shaped. So I want to know where in the front of the car is good to position the jack and still have room to work. Please let me know - thanks

1. The front jack point is indicated in the service manual.

2. NEVER get under a car that is only supported by a jack. That is just stupid, stupid, stupid.

I'm guessing there is like 3 spot to jack it from. I used the one behind the front jacking point and it seem to raise the car equal. Then I just put jackstand on jacking points. I been doing this for a while. Just to bring up what Helio8 said that you should always use a jackstand. My friend just used the little Kragen jack and broke when he got up to get a beer. Hmmm thank god for beer.

There is a central jacking point under the motor it is on a crossmember and has kind of a half moon shape to it if I remember right. I've yet to see a jack that can reach it though. Your best bet is to place your Hyd. jack under the rear side jacking point(just in front of the rear wheel) and then place a jackstand under the front side jacking point(just behind the front wheel) then repeat for the other side. Or get some low profile ramps if you dont have the front lip. If you have a front lip you need some extra extra low profile ramps.

yep my friend did this, on one of those scissor jacks (scary), and the jack just broke and down the car came slamming towards his face...luckily car was high enough that it didn't crush his head in......yeah that was scary.
