So are you supposed to use the center of the engine to jack up the front of the car and place the two stands behind the front wheels, and then jack up the rear of the car from the differential and put jacks in front of the rear wheels?

I usually use my racing jack to get the car up using the front or the back jacking points as specified. Then i put jackstands on the corners in the place where you would jack the car up with the factory jack if you got a flat. I see a lot of people using the frame as the jack stand points such as this.

Which was is easier on the car? Thanks.
Wait a minute... wait a minute. Aren't you the dude that was "calling out" S2000's in the Mid-A? I thought you were an RSX owner near the Baltimore area.

Back to the picture posted. Sorry, but I'd never have a jackstand that far in(driver front) if I were working on the car. Leaning on the fender or tugging on the front driver's side suspension will cause it to teeter. Been there.... done that.

I prefer to put the jack stands under the jacking points around the perimeter of the car. Not only is this more stable, but it leaves more room to move around under the car.

That's one way. I find it difficult to get my jack under the front support without the car being lifted from the side a little bit though.

I won't recommend this, but I jack one side up and then the other if all four jack stands need to be in place. You can only do this with a low-profile jack.

easiest way to go about it is get a racing jack and make a mini ramp out of 2x12's. You want two of them on top of one another sort of like this

-------------------------
-----------------------------------

get on top of the ramp (from the right of the little ramp diagram) and then there's more than plenty of room to get the jack in there.
