My car is not tracked so I don't have the satisfaction of hammering on the damn thing like I'm on Best Motoring. I've started paying more attention to the gearbox as a way to challenge myself every time I get in the s2k. Also like the idea of just being kind to the car and the car complementing the driver. Even on the street's low limits, the s2k is highly communicative. This was way longer than I intended.

What you posted applies to everyday driving as much as it applies to driving a car on a track. Smoothness while shifting and smooth hands will always lend themselves to speed out on track. It's about keeping the car balanced. We need to get you to go to a track day. Think about it, smooth asphalt and no deep potholes or ruts where you can scrape that lip spoiler. Beats Tabby Rd anyday.

check this thread out, has alot of information on adjusting clutch free play and has pictures too to show you how to adjust the pedal. it's worth giving it a shot since its super easy and its a free mod. if your reluctant about the adjustment, just adjust little by little and test each time. driving with a clutch pedal that has no freeplay helped me have smoother shifts all around. Billman has alot of good information regarding this.good luck on your pursuit to smoother shifts.

I've had an odd habit of staying on the throttle as I engage the clutch for quite some time now in DD traffic. This causes my RPM's to jump by a few hundred, which reduces the offset when I finish depressing the clutch, let off the gas, and engage in a different gear (prevents the RPM's from falling too low).
I haven't entirely decided yet if this is a good habit to have or bad. It makes my driving smoother, but a better solution would be to just shift quicker between gears. I figure for casual, lazy daily driving it's fine.

No food/drink in my car. 
Interesting. I've done this a few times by mistake (heavy foot) and it can make for smooth upchanges.
