If you have an 05 then you don't have 436 horse or 6.2 liters, unless your 05 is modded.

Could have sold your S to an enthusiast for $20K. I know that's not usually very feasible if you have a lien on the car but just saying, trade ins are rip offs. Good luck with the vette. Is it a C5 Z06?

i went over 6k rpm in every test drive i took before buying the car... and at least once a day since..

i can't even begin to imagine babying a car that much for over four thousand miles of driving.

enjoy your vette.

thanks for the proof, but I still don't understand how you can own the car for 3 years and drive it over four thousand miles and never have taken it above 6k.

pardon the poor analogy, its like building a pool and never going for a swim.
haha i have had a pool for 9 years and never used it

senor flogo. Your analogy is not poor it is just wrong. It is like buying a piece of art and looking at it. I am a collector. I have 52 bicycles, 4 motorcycles, and five vehicles. I change that collection over periodically. Before the S2000 trade on the 05 Vette, I traded a Mazda MX-5 on a new 08 Vette.

My 08 Hylander Limited is for driving. It has 24,000 miles on it. The other's get from 1 to 3K per year. That's at least another 10 to 12 K per year. I am in or one a ride every day.

However, being 68 and a retired Police Chief, I do not speed.

As I said, I took the S2000 over 6K rpm in a lower gear when I was taking it to the dealer to trade. It was a noticeable little extra punch. But you should feel the punch of the 6.2 liter 436 hp makes. There is no comparison.
Your analogy is wrong as well. Art is 100% form and no real function. The only thing it is good for is looking at it (not that looking at art doesn't provide it's own excitement and pleasure). Cars are both an exercise in function and form. I understand some people see their cars as rolling sculpture, but I think there is much more to it than that. And by not exploring the function of a vehicle, you don't get the full experience. But to each his own. Congrats on the Vette.
