Default ITR and S2000

Anyone ever tried a high speed run (hopefully in a closed circle track) with these 2 cars in stock form? I'm curious to hear any first-hand experiences.

I ran with an ITR and lost. My car is stock and I believe that his was slightly modded. We started from a 5 MPH roll and just took off all the way up to about 115MPH. He gained on me about half a car in first gear, then we stayed steady for the rest of the run. He jumped ahead probably because of the long delay of VTEC in 1st gear.

I've owned 2 ITR's and I've owned my S2k for a bit over 3 months. I can tell you that the ITR is a very competent high-speed car right up until 115 or so...after that I think the S2000 has the edge. I have not run them side by side, but I have tested this when I owned each car and the S2k has much better acceleration in the top gears. JMHO.

BTW: I loved my ITR, but theft and constantly worrying about it in parking lots led me to get rid of her. Glad I did...love my S. :-)

I was suprised that the ITR held it's lead on me above 2nd gear. I thought that once I punched 3rd I would pull on him, but he held his advantage on me. But I believe that he was killing/ redlining his engine. It was screaming like a bioach after 3rd gear.

I ran my friend ITR and took him easily but not by any big gapes. I had good shifted so I dunno if that affect it. We both didn't want to drop our gear so it was from a roll.

When I had my 00' PY Type R, I raced a white S2000 on the street. We raced down several different streets, many times from a stoplight. As much as I was able to stay with him, by the time he got to 3rd gear, he would pull ahead on me. The extra 1000 rpm's to redline made a big difference. From a start, we were neck and neck, but he could always pull on me in 2nd and definitely 3rd as he neared redline. But it was a fun race. My ITR only had an AEM CAI. His S2000 was stock.

After I sold my ITR, I was pissed (and have been) for the past two years. But now that I have an S2000, I'm no longer pissed, as I have an even faster car, and I'm enjoying it!

I believe I have a best motoring video of the these 2 racing on a track, for some reason the ITR pulled on the S in accerating, but the S took it over the corners eventually passing it on the second lap and pissing on it at the end.

Although the two cars have different set ups (ie: FWD vs. RWD) the two on a road course will have very comparable times in stock form. However, ITR

Good video. The S2000 ends up passing the ITR on long uphill straight.

You are so wrong with this statement.
I don't think he is. His first statement was stock for stock, and as someone who has owned and tracked both -- on the same day even -- he is right. Stock for stock they are about even. In terms of aftermarket support, there are a number of pre-made suspension and cage kits made for the ITR. Two years ago I would have said he was right on, now things have changed and we are starting to see a good number of S2000's stripped, caged and sprung for the track.
