IS300 vs S2K
#31
Mike L,
Hmmm... I didn't know the IS300 suffered from such problems. I live in Asia so the units available in this region are IS200s.
In any case, my IS200 has currently 10,000 kms and so far so good. My '01 S2000 with only 1,000 kms is suffering from a passenger latch rattle problem, check engine light came on and is now in the shop, intermittent engine stumbling problems which a change of the MAP sensor did not solve and HID light ignition problems which disappeared by itself.
Perhaps, I got a Friday built S2000 unit or a rare solidly built IS200 but I'm still banking on the better reliability record of Lexus over Honda. At least, for the S2000.

I have an S2000 and a Toyota Altezza i love both cars actually my Altezza gets more looks because i live in dallas TX. When i go to the Toyota dealership everyone comes out.. I plan to Turbo the car.. it has the Supra engine in it and it can push upward of 500 horse if you do it right (twin Turbo etc.) I like the car i think it looks great.. and i like driving both..

RedDevil,
Is your Altezza right-hand drive? If I'm not mistaken the Altezza is only available in RHD. Why would the Altezza command more stares than the IS? Did you get the body kits for the Altezza? How's the 2L 4 cylinder? I heard it was "rough" at high rpms similiar to the S2000.

Just adding some info. Ths is from the RX-7 forum and the author of the post owns a Blakc NSX and a Black 3rd generation RX-7. He has high standards in terms of handling to say the least:

"There was 3 people including a girl that took this stock IS300 and killed everything that had a 4 seats including M3's and supercharged ones and AMG Benz. That car is so well balanced and was a major crowd pleaser.
I think I will go and test drive one.Anyone know anything about them? Experience?"
