[QUOTE=2slow,Nov 5 2008, 09:30 AM] I can't believe all the people chastising the OP for looking up the criminal's personal information.

um

what 'record'? you don't get a 'record' when you get fired from most jobs. maybe this whole insured/bonded issue is different. but in most cases, you get fired, and then you get a new job. you are under no obligation to disclose your previous employment, and even if you do and your new prospective employers call up your old job, generally most employers will not disclose why you left - corporate privacy policies on that kind of thing are pretty strict. most companies will simply say whether or not they would hire you again... and a simple 'no' isn't going to ruin your chances.

continue with your exaggerations... the guy wasn't totally in the right, but everyone on here bashing him is imo being ridiculous.

Since her insurance company is working with you it's most likely a non-issue how you obtained her information.

Your employer isn't doing any inquiries about this matter and they probably won't unless she decides to press charges. A legal battle means the issue of her hit-and-run crime will be addressed. I'm sure she didn't mention the hit-and-run part to her insurance company and I'm sure she doesn't want anyone else to either.

Unless she's a vindictive b*tch who's willing pay even higher insurance rates and have a hit-and-run on her record just to get you fired, I think you're in the clear.

Your co-workers will get your back on this one. Nobody's going to get fired unless you did something morally wrong.

no..i never mentioned you going to jail...

but by what you did, would prevent you from getting a job again in the financial industry that requires you to be insured and bonded because you got the bank indirectly involved. but hey, like you said, its a "shitty bank job" then why should i care..i'm in it for the career.

You really blow things out of proportion.

Insured and bonded?

Now the bank is going to get sued?

Now I need to go to court just because I took a piece of paper that has her name, address, and telephone number? (btw, i did not take the page that has her bank accounts and ss#...it's just when you first pull up a client's info...those are the first things that appear on the screen)

Then I will lose my job and never get hired again?

Now I have a criminal record?

Now my only chance of working is at McDonalds? Oh, and there goes S2K because now I can't afford it + I'm only 21, I don't know any better.

I really want to hear what's next on the list.

Go on...

edit: this post wasn't just aimed towards you. I'm glad to know what consequences I can face, because honestly, I did not know this. but man, some of the stuff you guys say is just ridiculous.
