I've not attempted this mod myself (yet) but this member is very talented and highly respected at S2Ki. Check out his mod page and see if it will help. Click here

Or instead of hacking up your garage door remote, putting it in a zip lock back and all that other silly stuff, just pay $90 and get this:

I have it and it works awesome!

The flash thing will not work for me. My driveway is short so if I wait until I'm in it to flash I will have to wait on the door to open. If I flash while I am still on the street then I blind oncoming traffic. I plan to install my garage door opener under the dash and wire it up to the car (using a voltage regulator) then I'll use this switch:
It's a momentary switch that toggles both left and right with the center being "off". I have two garage doors so this should be perfect for controlling both.

i installed a small genie remote in the cabin light housing. after a few minor mods, it fits perfectly in there. i cant say it looks oem, but its very inconspicious and range is great, > 300 ft. my digital camera is broken, but i will try to take some pix and scan it.
