I see that you are new...there is SOOOO MUCH stuff here on intakes...just look on this page, and look a few pages back. And you could use the search function.

Now that I told you that, you know for the future.

To answer your question, there are 4 main different types of intakes. There are the AEM/Injen types, the Comptech/K&N type, Snorkles, and JDM style.

The biggest power adders are the AEM's and JDM's, biggest noise makers are the AEM's, safest are all of the above except AEM's, most expensive are JDM's, easiest to install are snorkles. Power differences between them are not huge, there isn't much power added with an intake anyway. I don't think the snorkles acutally add any power (maybe 1-2 or so) but they are supposed to help bog by drawing in air from the front, slightly cooler. AEM might gain 1-2 more hp over comptech/K&N just because it is a "true" cold air, and it is a little louder...but the comptech/K&N dont risk hydrolock. JDM's give better throttle response and a little more power, probably close to AEM if any less it would only be by 1hp...

thats it in a nutshell...are you going to feel 1-2 hp? Not really. The most I'd expect from an intake is 5-6hp, I have AEM

I just installed the K&N FIPK. I don't have any idea if it gives the car any more "go", but it sure sounds great. With the stock air box gone, there's about a half acre on engine bay that you can get to. I like it!
I also got this crossmember cover from Tony Bell (sales@s2ki.com). Nice touch! Plain stainless steel or S2000 logo as in this pic.

if price is no object, ASM If price is a concern, AEM is bang-for-buck relatively speaking. Others to consider: Comptech, Muz, J's Racing, Mugen, ARC. Snorkel designs are available to utilize the existing oem airbox: Spoon.

If your main issue is heat bog, you may want to check out this thread and see what developments may come from it:

A great design as this eliminates hot air from coming in unlike the other designs.
