Werd. If that's the case, go for your original plan. Hey...cheaper is cheaper. Means more mod money for you.

Check out wawanesa.com if your family and yourself has a clean record. I switched a while back and my parents switched recently too. We're paying ridiculously cheap insurance.

Mr. Engineer, coming from an Asian family with parents that earn sub-middle class income, I know that just "cutting the cord" and moving out is not feasible. I have to help out my family with expenses, especially since they worked so hard to put me and my little brother to college. Some people are not as fortunate as others. I'm probably going to move out in a year or two from now, but still cannot "cut the cord". Plus, I landed a job working from home currently, so why not save money and live at home for the time being?

In regards to the insurance question, I'm going to just look into branching off from Geico as their rates seem pretty high.

I don't see what race has to do with it but I'm just f-ing with you and have nothing worthwhile to contribute anyway.

Good god some of you guys pay a lot for insurance. Aspec have you gotten a quote from them? I use Geico myself and although I am older than you, it shouldn't matter that much at 24 (I don't think) and I am paying 470 every 6 months full coverage on my AP1 AND my 2006 WRX with a 500 dollar deductible.

Granted, I hold a CDL, have completed professional driving school, the "smith system" driving course, defensive driving, and the MSF motorcycle course over the past 12 years but still, I have nothing spectacular that says I should have rates this low.

Geico wanted an extra $3000 a year in our family plan for a 2005 S2000 with me as the primary driver. I think I was paying around $2400 for my WRX that I just sold. Maybe Bay Area rates are especially high.

I pay 189 a month for insurance on both my cars. I am 22 years old. I am the primary on my 1985 toyota pickup, and my s2000 is insured as a pleasure vehicle. Still gets full coverage, but it doesnt have any driver assigned to it so it is way cheep to insure.
