I am about to enter into a lease for a spa yellow s2000, and it just dawned on me last night, that i hadn't contacted my insurance agent for a quote. Just out of curiosity, (especially those of you in AZ or FL) what are your yearly insurance costs? i figure i could get FL plates if need be. I live in NJ but im going away to AZ for college in 2-3 mos anyway...dunno what to do... i cant afford NJ isurance...my godfather called this morning saying it would be $9k/yr if it was on my name. I find this hard to believe seeing as how my friend is paying $9.5k in insurance on a clk55amg....which is over 2X the cost of the honda.....any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

We all should be that lucky, shingles. I am in Los Angeles and I pay 2k per year, but in August when my last ticket comes off, I will be paying $1600 year.

There was a thread about insurance costs recently, but I'm a lazy bastard, so I won't post it here

I pay $1,900 a year for full coverage on my S2000--about $700 more annually than I do for my other car. It's a lot considering that I'm 25, have a spotless record, and qualify for every discount imagineable at State Farm. Performance at a price, I suppose.

But $9,000/year is ludicrous.

it's not just the actual cost of the car... there are many factors: like age, location, age, location, age, and classification of the car. S2k is a sports car, if it's your primary car, you will get his if you are young.

i am 27, own honda civic ex 98, and just bought 2001 s2000.

i am paying 65 dollars a month for the s2000 because i got discount for multiple cars, as well as it is mileage rated, meaning, it is not driven daily. i am with american family. check it out. believe it or not, it is only 113 dollars/month for 2001 NSX
