Default Insurance Fixing/Replacing AP2 Rim

As most of you know, I was in an accident and really tore up my AP2 V1 driver's side rear wheel. The shop I have my car at right now wants to replace it for safety reasons (unseen stress and high impact). The insurance agent also wanted it replaced, but are only giving me 200 dollars toward it. They want the shop to locate a used rim, but unfortunatly they havent had any luck.

This rim retails for 600 dollars new and I think most places sell it for over 400.

I dont have and don't want to shell out the difference. Is this something I can fight with the insurance company?

Do you guys know of any place I can buy a used rim or get a great deal on a new one?

Thanks.

I would think that if a used rim is unavailable they'd be responsible for buying a used one.

Have you called and explained the situation to them yet?

BINGO!

They may write to replace it for a used or reconditioned rim, but unless they can find one, they MUST replace it with a new one.
