State to state, carriers are filed differently. Not sure how State Farm works.

In regards to the post above it:

Just to clarify, my insurance isn't being "cancelled," just "not renewed." Which is a BIG difference that I made sure to clarify with them. I haven't done anything wrong, never missed or have been late on a payment, never had an at-fault with them, etc. I can't imagine the reason to want to drop me. I'm tempted to just start the insurance company of MikeyCB and cover myself

Wow, that is a pain!

They can't really give you any trouble for the OEM lip like you said, since it's merely a factory option/accessory.

But still, sounds like they are a real pain in the butt

I've run into the same situation with my Corvettes. It's not you and it's probably not the mods it's the car that they want to drop.
Some of these companies who do not normally cover certain types of cars will only give you coverage if you happen to hold multiple policies with them.
If you to happen to fit in this catagory No multiply policies), they would prefer you get insurance somewhere else.
Don't mess with them. If they did decide to re-insure you, you would always have the feeling that they did you a favor. It should be the other way arouind. You want a company that considers your business with them as a favor to them.

Mike, maybe there thinking the odds are in there favor to drop you. No claims for 7yrs vs a big claim.....I would take those odds to if I was them....besides your in BFE now..I think it would be a total if you hit a moose

I wonder if it would be a total if I hit an Ohioan

Oh I made a big claim before I moved here to the tune about about $16K after my instrument cluster and start button were stolen...along with everything in my trunk hours after returning from a trip. Laptop, snowmobile parts, tons of other technology items, DVDs CDs, etc etc etc.

I actually have multiple policies with them, though a few less than I did before. For years up until May of this year I had a snowmobile, Sea Doo, life, and car. A couple of cars along the way at times as well. Now it's just life and car. And they think I'll stick with em for the life policy if I go elsewhere for auto HA!

I'm realy for S2KI to start up a special group buy on Insurance!!. Though if they read the threads on the recent rash of accidents in the past couple months our rates will be silly
