Installed Vision Hood Dampers
#11
I doubt HIGHLY that it matters at all. If you look at the Tein GB thread there are pictures of them installed BOTH ways.
I think the concensus was oposite the way you have it, but leave it. Be different. If people laugh at you, laugh back. Screw 'em if they can't take a joke right?

Now its like being in high school all again...Do I roll my pants into a cuff? Do I put my collar up? Do these airplane pants make me look fat? Where is my Member's Only jacket?
The pressure may be to much and I will have to reverse them. Only time will tell.

Thats funny....I have the TEIN ones....and first of all, they are on the other way...... second, the ball joints only fit one way, so its weird that you got it to work......they shouldnt compress unless they get alighned exactly. Oh well, mystery it is. Looks good.

Can someone post a pronunciation of TEIN? I have no idea how it's supposed to be said.
Here is a video on their site about the company. Watch and learn.

As for the dampers, they look great. I think that I might paint my Tein dampers black after seeing these. Did they cost you a lot more than the Tein dampers?

What makes me scratch my head is that the box cover shows them on the way I put them on. With the instructions being useless it was all I had to go on. I sort of had flashbacks to my Lincoln Log days and said "If this fits here then this goes there" and whalahh the hood was staying up and all I have to do is wait for my wife to pop the hood pull it up so hard it breaks off at the joints.

I had my dampers installed both ways and they work fine either way. Although in the disclaimers Tein says that dampers installed upside down could eventually cause leaking and not hold the weight of your hood as time passes. I don't understand how that would cause the strut to leak, but I switched mine to the damper body above the damper rod.
