Installed Vision Hood Dampers
Thanks to Rusler Firbrand for PM'ing me about these Vision Dampers from jhpusa.com
I had a bit of a wait to get them and several emails about what "order processing" means but they arrived today and I installed in about 20 minutes.
Thank god for the picture on the box as the instruction were not the greatest
They installed easy you just have to pay attention to the direction you install with the pistons opening towards the hood. Also initial close sounds like you are breaking your hood as things crack and pop on the first down on the dampers. No noise after the first time. Still drop the hood from ususal spot and I really like the height the hood is at when open. Watch out going up as the hood will take off on you. I imagine on a windy day this could get ugly.
Wanted the all silver and this is why I went with vision. They were around $165 shipped.

These could of been made by Kmart and I could of cared less...
I just wanted plain silver and as much as I am a Miami Hurricanes fan and orange and green are my two favorite colors I made my wife a promise that no green items were going on the car

I installed mine the other way around. It works fine either way.
I also "exercised" the shock against the floor before install. This eliminated the creaking sound on the first closing. I would have been VERY scared of that with my recently painted CF hood.
Closing is VERY easy, no issue or problem with the CF at all (although I don't drop the CF hood closed) you have full control to drop the hood from 12-14 inches high or so. I just rest it down and then press it to latch in gently.

ruexp67,
The instructions were not clear about position of the dampers up or down so I went by the cover of the box. Do you think it matters? I don't want to be the idiot everyone is talking about at the SESM meet with his dampers put on backwards
I did push one of the rods on the floor but forgot to do the other rod and hence we had a nice popping and cracking sound.
I am taking the direction to one of my school's japanese teachers in the morning and have him translate them for me.
Looking foward to the pics.
