Info on using oil during breakin.
#1
With all the talk on burning oil during break-in I thought I'd better check mine.
I have 4800Km on my car, don't baby it but don't thrash it either, and my oil level was sitting right on the low mark.
I know ... so spank me.
My previous Honda experience was that I never had to check oil, water etc because the car just didn't use any it was so damn reliable. This lulls you into a sense of false security but I realise now that the S2000 is different.
After a top-up the transition to vtec provides for much more punch. I'm suprised at the difference it makes and shall be much more dilligent about checking my oil level in future.
Asked the service manager about the oil and it is definitely not a synthetic. They use the Integra Type R oil in it (here at least).
I must say though that my dealer's 'holier than thou' attitude gets under my skin somewhat.
Also... recieved a recall for the seat-belt problem today. I don't have the problem but they expect you to oblige anyway. Fair enough.
