If you're happy with your WRX, you'll be ECSTATIC with an S2K.

I've owned both. The S2K is hands down a better car.

I question your friends experiences with an S as well. I have yet to hear of an owner complain about reliability with the exception of turbo, high hp cars. Even a supercharger will not give you much of an issue as it will only make a good deal more torque and hp above 6k for an ap1.

Pretty much everyone agrees that the week point, if you have to choose, is the differential, but only for those who launch often or incorrectly. As mentioned above launching the car is somewhat similar to awd (had an old legacy sport turbo) in that grip>torque. Something has to give, whether it's your tires' traction, or your differential. Search for threads on launching for more info, but basically you have to launch over 6k rpm and sidestep the clutch (fastest possible clutch engagement) so break tire traction smoothly.

yes, you need to induce tire spin, and a lot of it. depending on the grip of the pavement I launch between 6 and 7k. w/ my sc I was launching right around 6k.

As far as reliability goes I think its awesome, I've owned it for almost 2 years and I've only destroyed one set of brakes, one motor, and one diff. lol

WOW
ok well ive never done this...it was always around 3k...so your saying under6k...3k...is hurting the car?
If you launch at 6-7k. Dont you just spin all day. Whats the point of trying to launch it if your just sitting there spinning

OT: trust us, it will spin for a fraction of a second or a second then it will grab. you'll be pleasantly suprised at the results. i bested other RWD cars and matched a WRX off the line this way. Drive safe and be careful.
