Default Indy Driver gets Ticket in S2000

This was in our local newspaper yesterday. Presumably it made the local paper because Ashley lives in Nashville:

"Actress Ashley Judd had a persuasive argument when Kentucky State Police stopped her husband for going 75 mph on the Bluegrass Parkway.
Dario "Speedwagon" Franchitti, a professional race driver, could handle 75 mph because he's used to driving three times faster, she pointed out.
Trooper Todd Evans was unmoved, despite the couple's pleasant demaenor and cooperation. 'I told them that it was not him I was worried about, but everybody else on the parkway'
So Evans gave Franchitti his autograph on a ticket at 2:10 PM April 20, after stopping the couple's westbount silver 2000 Honda convertible on the parkway near the US 127 interchange in Anderson County.
But Franchitti, who finished 19th in Sunday's Indy 500, did not show up for his May 20 appearnce in Anderson County District Court, a court clerk said Friday"

Some cops need to get a life. Its mostly 65mph on that highway. 75 isnt bad.

I didn't type in the whole article. It goes on to say:

" Franchitti, 29, could have prepaid the $105 fine, but it has jumped to $130 because he failed to repond to the ticket. The court will notify officials in TN, where Franchitti lives, about the ticket. If he fails to pay the fine, the state of TN could take some administrative action, such as suspending his license. Evans, a trooper for 13 years, said the couple explained they were late for her birthday party in TN. Ashley turned 34 on April 19th."

"Despite being Scottish".....

Wait a minute now, those are fighting words!

Remember "Scottish Soccer Hooligans" from SNL?

Well, from a Dutch/Scotsman, Franchitti's pedigree is just fine by me.

Hootsama,

Growing up and being educated in England, you will no doubt understand the history instilled and the complexes the English have against its poor Scottish, Welsh and Irish brethren.....some things are out of one's control!

And am too new to the US to have seen SNL but I know all about Scottish hooliganism!!!
