That said, yes, I think there are lots of us that would have paid a little extra for something exclusive or just more to our taste. Not sure why in the world they don't offer the Moonrock or MC given how many of us drool over it on this side of the pond.

I've done Euro Delivery, but I was expressly told that the car had to be spec'd out with ONLY options available to U.S. buyers. You can get other colors or other interior options, but then you CANNOT do European Delivery. It makes no real sense, but that's the way it is.
I know of a guy who ordered an E46 in Estoril Blue (an E36 M3 & M Coupe Color). The E46 M3 didn't come in Estoril Blue. He wanted to do Euro Delivery, but was told that it's either Euro Delivery - OR - the special color. He chose the color.
I believe the special paint color cost him an additional $2000.
Euro Delivery generally saves you 7% of the MSRP on your BMW. You obviously save more by getting a more expensive model.
I bought a 3 series via Euro Delivery. Fully optioned it cost about $40k. I saved about $3k by taking Euro Delivery. That paid for the trip to Europe, hotel expenses, etc.
As you may know -- BMW covers the insurance and there is no cost to ship the car back to the U.S. The ONLY downside is being without the car for about 4 weeks while it's on the ocean. You have to make your car payment anyway.
Now back to the S2000 ...
