Increase how long lights stay on when you use the remote to open door

2 things that I think would be cool would be to somehow increase the length of time the orange lights stay on when you click on the remote to open the door. It looks very nice at night, check it out. Also, somehow to make the interior lights dim, when the door is closed, not immediately turn off. How can we do this? I dont know, thats why im asking.
