I bought a S2K that had exactly 43 miles on it. Before I bought the car, I asked the salesman if people test drove this car. He told me that no one drove it.....but how can it have 43 miles on it???? Do you think my car has been taken out for a test drive???? I am just worried that this car might have been pushed.....

In my opinion, you have nothing to worry about.
The cars can arrive in the U.S.A. with up to 60 miles on the odometer, my dealer/friend Dick Weber told me. A certain percentage are driven more thoroughly at the manufacturing plant for quality assurance.
In the worst possible case that your car arrived with zero miles and the salesman lent it to his 15 year old son to horse around for a bit, I don't think it is likely he did any significant damage...
unless the son's name is Des...
Barry in Wyoming...

MDS2k- As you know I'm picking mine up on Saturday from Northwest Honda. I was told it had 18 miles on it and got a little worried myself. I have a '99 Tacoma 4x4 and bought it with 8 miles on it new. Northwest said that it had not been on a test drive and was only taken out once for a test drive by their service people as standard procedure. I'm sure yours is cool too. All in all you can't kill yourself over it. Really, with that low mileage at the worst no harm could have been done.

My 2001 had 8 miles on it. The salesguy told me that when we drove it for the first time [after I had initiated the paperwork and intended to purchase the car] that it was the first time he had been in one. No salespeople at this dealership are permitted to drive their S2Ks, unless they are with a buyer... only sales management. I found this to be an interesting and good policy.

mine had 11 miles on it, and boy were the sales people excited when my buddy picked it up for me. Most dealers did not do test drives on the S2000's unless they had a "demo" that the dealers used for that. I test drove the GM's S2000, which was later sold for a discount.

have rarely seen anything more than 12 miles on the new s2k's. typically from 6-11 miles on them. mine had 25, only one guy test drove it. am I worried? not really. the guy who test drove it didn't know what he was sitting in. he turned down the car because it didnt' have enough head room for him. and if he's going to be that picky on this car, then I have little to worry about.

MDS2K,
I wouldn't worry about it, unless they used the first 43 miles at a speedway or autocross...you're in good shape. It all depends on they way you break it in from hear on out to 600 miles...take care of it!
Mine had 4 miles, that's why I picked it.
Fresh of the boat I guess.

Baggs, I'm planning on moving to Catonsville in June/July! How I'm gonna find a house from Cleveland is the big question. Any advice? How's your neighborhood??
