Default Import a white / blue interior from canada?

Does anyone know how hard it would be to import a white with blue interior S2000 from Canada into the US? I know someone that brought a BMW over and all he had to do was change the dash to a US spec, on the S all you have to do is push a button. Any emmisions laws? registration?

Thanks,
Justin

I think that you actually get some money back becasue of the extra taxes that you pay in Canada. Just do it. Forget the warranty. Just buy the car from a Dealer next to the border and take it back if something goes wrong.

Yep. Have fun trying to get American Honda to touch your car after you drive it over the border. The only way they would do that is if you were travelling through the states and your identification clearly showed you lived in Canada. Then, if something was wrong with the car, they would honor everything and take care of it for you.

I actually was going to do this myself the first time I saw the color combo. If you do a search through my posts you will find it a few pages back. I started the thread a few months ago and one guy chimed in about how he had imported a few cars over the border. It can be done but is very expensive. If I were you I would just start considering an alternative.

Thanks guys, its actually a friend of mine that was considering doing this. Probably just easier(and cheaper) to paint it. I think the japanese pearl white is better anyway...Just curious though, what is different about the canadian car that would be tip off an american dealer, I didn't see anything about other contry model in the Vin explanation on this board.

I thought about importing a yellow/black one to Canada before the white/blue came out, its indeed a lot of trouble, I'd rather just paint the car instead of going thru this much trouble...just my 2 cents

btw the platinum pearl white thats offered in japan is no doubt the best color of the S!!
