Default Immobolizer Key System

Just curious to know. Now I know that if someone wants the car they can take it with say a flat-bed toe truck. But I mean if it's not planned and the thieves have no flat-bed toe truck, on a scale from 1 to 10, how effective is the system?

Really wanted to know cause I just got the car and haven't had much time to buy added security and I get really freaked out.

Immobilizers are very effective if there is no tow-truck. All S2000s have them.

However, you should be more worried about your seats if you have no alarm to attempt to scare thieves away.

How good is the immobilizer key?

Why, it's so good that when I have it in my pocket even Viagra doesn't work. (rimshot)

The seats are ridiculously expensive to replace.
Send PM to this user for information on getting locks for the seats:

um, it isn't really effective if the thieve knows what he is doing. i actually buy several theft recovery s2000s from insurance companies and rebuild them and can tell you from personal experience that there is a way to bypass the immobolizer key. however, it would be a lot easier to steal any car without this feature.

Sorry if I sound ignorant, but what exactly does the system do?
