wtf.... never heard of a dad wanting his son to get an s2k. I mean there are plenty of newer model cars. Get an ap2 if you must...

I'm sorry, but this has been covered so many times, take some time and READ.

Look up the differences between the two and drive them both, make an educated decision.

I'd say get a new one, since someone else is buying. Has you dad priced insurance yet?

Which year is the best, is well and thoroughly debated here. But most of the younger drivers end up wrecking the AP1 so I'd say go 06 or later, as VSA will help out in the rain.

speaking from experience, coming from a FWD to a RWD is tough and the s2k isn't forgiving, esp AP1. you should get a newer model with VSA. my2cents.

There are sticky I think about model year changes, but hell, I list out some of it.

AP1 = Higher redline / plastic rear on pre MY02 / ugly headlight & taillights / 16" rims / good color combos on pre MY02 / less forgiving car

AP2 = Lower redline / glass rear / handsome head & tail lights / 17" rim / shitty color combos on some colors / better speaker set up / more forgiving / nicer looking bumpers / Better looking interior

Overall, go buy the 07 white with red interior! It's the best of all model year S2K, IMO.

Anyways, good luck and be careful with your new car.

The reason they are telling you all these things is that seats are stolen very often on these cars so parking it at a college, the car will be at the mercy of thieves. Also coming from a FWD car it will take you a while to learn to drive the S safely, I had a 91 Accord before my S and trust me when I say this. It is a totally different driving experience.
