I'm confused Vinyl or Fabric
I asked a guy at Autozone of what cleaner should I use for my convertible top. I told him I had a S2000. He told me I need a fabric cleaner, so I left because they don't carry fabric convertible cleaner. I went to autogeek.com and it said vinyl.
I'm really confused. It looks like vinyl, but my dad says it feels like fabric. Which one is it?

Yes... as least for the purpose of selecting a protectant.
Select a vinyl protectant for an OEM S2000 top. Our tops do use a woven substrate giving it a fabric-like texture, but it is coated with vinyl which requires the typical UV protectants of any other vinyl component. Many like Wolfstein's RaggTopp Vinyl Protectant or 303 Aerospace Protectant.
Our tops differ from fabric or canvas tops that have a rubber backing and need a fabric protectant that essentially seals the fabric from dirt and moisture. While the texture of our tops is fairly convincing, the differences are obvious when comparing an S2000 top side-by-side with a real fabric/canvas top.
Are you really going to believe someone from Autozone over the advice from Autogeek for this one? The people there usually don't know squat unless they can look it up in the computer. Most don't even know what an S2000 is nevermind the material of the top.

I thought our convertible tops were fabric. Am I wrong?
