I think I know why Honda choose to bring Sebring sliver and Suzuka blue to US in 02!!
this is from Honda Japan officical web site.
http://www.honda.co.jp/auto-lineup/s2000/ranking/
the rank for most popular colour to 12/01 in Japan:
1. Grand Prix White
2. Sebring Silver Metallic
3. Suzuka Blue Metallic
Since Sebring silver and Suzuka Blue first show in japan, and become very popular, so Honda choose to bring them over to US.
that maybe why Sebring Silver replace sliversione ( ) and there are Suzuka Blue in US instead of Monte Carlo Blue. Because Silverstone and Monte Carlo Blue are less popular than Sebring Silver and Suzuka Blue in Japan now. And Honda assume US market will be the same.
this is just my assumption, I may be wrong, so what do you guys think?

.
I don't think so. Most Japanese manufacturers do extensive marketing surveys of American consumers before they decide to bring anything over. I'm sure Honda --erroneously -- concluded that Suzuka blue would be more popular than Monte Carlo blue in the U.S.

and you base that on........?
I've seen about 10 2002s on the road. Only one has been Suzuka blue. I know, it early in the model run and it wasn't a random sample but the distribution has been according to expectations with red being number 1.
The general reaction from this board when Suzuka blue was announced.
The general reaction to photos of the Monte carlo blue.
There is nothing wrong with Suzuka blue. I prefer the Monte carlo blue myself. I purchased the black based on my assumption that the Monte Carlo blue would not make it over here. Could this assumption be in error?
